Jack's six month anniversary

JACKYesterday Jack was exactly six months old - where does the time go? It's weird because on one level it does seem a long time ago that he arrived with us, such a long while that I can hardly remember exactly how he looked, and yet on another level the time seems to have flown by.

All I can say is that so far (and I'm touching every bit of wood I can find) he has been a dream. We have hardly had a sleepless night and he seems a contented little baby. We haven't really followed the Gina Ford approach as such (we have never bought her book) but we have followed a pretty strict routine and it seems, in his case , to have worked.

Now he's feeding on solids really well, we're about to cut out his lunchtime bottle. So you see you just go from one stage to another, and perhaps this is why the time flies by and yet it's hard to remember the details and I guess that's why I write this blog!

Jack's christening party

Jack Being Christened We recently had Jack's christening party at the local church from my mum and dad's home in Tittleshall, Norfolk. It was a great day shared with lots of family and friends, some of whom travelled a fair distance to share it with us. After the service we had a lovely meal back at the Great Barn at Godwick on my mum and dad's farm. We didn't manage to get many photos in the church of Jack being christened, and this is probably the best we have got so far.

Jack showing off his new teeth

Jack showing off his new teeth to daddy I love this photo of Jack showing off how he wants to start biting everything and using his new teeth His two bottom teeth are now through and here he is using them by biting daddy's finger. Nice! So far he hasn't had too much pain with these two - the odd moment where they are clearly painful, but he has still kept sleeping. Fingers' crossed.

Jack feeding and teething

yes I love eating it all even the spoon

We love this picture of Jack as he seems so happy. He has taken to eating so quickly and he especially loves his baby rice porridge at 10am. He is also having pear and apple purees made by Charlie and other stuff as well.

His first tooth is causing some pain and he seems to be a bit grissly this morning, but he's still sleeping through the night so far. I found some good teething tips on ask baby.com. We are using Ashton & Parsons infant powders - they are sachets of powder that you pour on his tongue to numb the pain and they do seem to help, although he doesn't like the taste much.

colour-co-ordinated Jack - his clothes now go with his new pushchair

Jack colour co-ordinated in brown Jack's all smiles here in his matching clothes and pushchair outfit.... and while he is a really happy little man, his first tooth is on its way through and it is causing him some pain sometimes. We're keeping our finger's crossed that he doesn't start waking during the night, but guess that our blissful last three months without a broken night's sleep is likely to end!

Messy and happy, just like daddy

Messy and happy, just like daddyJack has a new bumbo seat and this is how we feed him now.. it's great for that, but it doesn't stop the little man getting his baby porridge all over his chops!! Good boy, looks like he's taking after his daddy! We bought our bumbo on ebay for about £27 - a few quid cheaper than retail.
